So. Painted wood floors. I'm for them.
Friend & colleague, Ty Larkins, designed this foyer space for our local Hospice Decorator Showhome. I loved the graphic pattern on the floor and the mix of greens/teals....nicely done!
This pattern is cool - if even a little time consuming to create - and I also like that the walls are a pure white!
You might remember this painted floor by Tobi Fairley (you know I love her!)...I still like that this is a simple color palette and a great solution to kitchen floors, which can be soooo boring!
Million Dollar Decorators fans will recognize this space by Mary McDonald. Aren't you so glad her client decided to keep the floor?! MM: "I love it!" Client: "I don't!" I almost passed out when she said that...and I was rooting for Mary to be able to convince her to hang int here. This is a great room.
Hope everybody's Friday is a quick one and that you have a great weekend!!

While I agree that all of these look great in those spaces, I have a "logistical" question.
ReplyDeleteIn your opinion, when is it OK to paint over beautiful hard wood floors? Is it something people do when the floors are less than perfect? Or maybe laminate? We have original floors in our 100 y/o home and I cringe thinking someone, someday might paint over them.
Look for my answer in next week's Ask SoHaus!! Thanks for the great question!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! i love the patterns and the way the color on the walls just pops against the black and white.
